Report: How West Ham feel about Tomas Soucek's future

West Ham United will not rush into a decision on Tomas Soucek’s long-term future.

Soucek has been a remarkable signing for West Ham United, scoring 46 goals while registering 13 assists in 276 appearances since joining the club from Slavia Prague.

Statistics alone, however, do not tell the full story.

The midfielder, while often a divisive figure when things aren’t going well, has played a key role in so many different variations of the team since his arrival.

Under contract until the summer of 2027, West Ham will not be making any rash decisions.

They will likely be pleased, then, that the club hold all the cards here.

Not only does Soucek still have a year to run on his contract, West Ham also boast the option of extending it by another 12 months.

As such, there is little panic over the situation as he comes towards the end of his current contract.

Soucek reportedly considering West Ham exit

It will be interesting to see what the Czech international really thinks about his future, however.

Previously, reports have claimed that Soucek is considering leaving West Ham in pursuit of a new challenge.

That clearly doesn’t mean he will be forcing an exit but, either way, the club are in a relatively commanding position here.

West Ham control Soucek’s future until at least the summer of 2028, which provides some stability at least.

Even if they are relegated from the Premier League this season, there’s at least a degree of certainty from the West Ham United perspective.
