Newcastle United make move for £22m-rated Brazilian wonderkid after securing 'agreement' -…

The latest transfer talk from Newcastle United as the Magpies are linked with a Brazilian winger and a Spanish defender.

Newcastle United reportedly been told how much they must pay to secure one of Brazilian football’s brightest young talents after an initial ‘proposal’ from the Magpies was rejected by his current club.

United head of recruitment Steve Nickson has been a consistent presence in South America in recent seasons and appears to have made a breakthrough in his bid to lure young talent to the North East after reports suggested Newcastle had agreed a deal for 16-year-old Ecuadorian winger Johan Martinez. The Independiente del Valle won’t officially become a Magpie for another two seasons due to transfer regulations but a verbal agreement is said to be in place for the move to proceed.

However, Martinez is not the only South American winger on Newcastle’s radar after Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte claimed the Magpies had submitted an offer of around £22m to secure a deal for Palmeiras forward Eduardo Conceicao. The 16-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Serie A club but has also made a major impact at Under-20 level by scoring five goals and providing three assists in 13 appearances during the current season.

The report claims Newcastle are far from alone in showing an interest in the winger and states Barcelona and Liverpool have also made ‘recent contact’ with Conceicao’s representatives. Significantly, Palmeiras’ stance over the youngster’s future is also set out with the Brazilian club said to be ‘in no hurry to send the attacker to Europe’ and refusing to consider any offers below the £35m mark. Palmeiras are also said to be keen to allow Conceicao to follow in the footsteps of Real Madrid star Endrick and Chelsea wonderkid Estevao by handing him a senior debut at the club to add to his value before a big money move is secured.

The move comes after Newcastle reportedly reached an agreement with 16-year-old winger Johan Martinez from Independiente del Valle of Ecuador.

Newcastle have also been named as a possible suitor for Real Madrid defender Diego Aguado.

The Spain Under-19 international has been a regular in Real’s youth sides in recent seasons and his progress was rewarded with a senior debut when he played the entire 90 minutes of a Copa del Rey win against minnows Minera in January last year. A La Liga debut followed last month when Aguado came off the bench to replace former Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger during the second half of a 4-1 home win against Elche - but there is still speculation suggesting he could be moved on from Real during the summer despite being considered as a bright prospect at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Spanish outlet AS has suggested the 19-year-old is one of several young players that could be moved on from the La Liga giants this summer and has stated AC Milan, Parma and Newcastle have Aguado ‘on their agenda’ for the summer transfer window after Borussia Dortmund were unsuccessful with a £5m offer last year. The report states ‘all options are open’ for Aguado’s future and suggests the end of the current season could mark the next phase in his career.
