Fabian Hurzeler's Brighton release clause?

It has been an eventful season for Brighton and Hurzeler.

While they are currently enjoying a strong run of form, there have also been tense spells.

In December, Albion went without a win. The same happened last year under Fabian.

And only two months ago, some fans were chanting ‘Hurzeler out’.

Despite that, the Albion Head Coach has remained composed.

As the campaign moves towards its conclusion, reports have suggested Fabian could leave in the summer.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Leverkusen are 'keeping a close eye' on him.

Florian Plettenberg has also said Leverkusen are aware Hurzeler has a release clause of around €15m (£13.1m) in his Brighton contract, which runs until June 2027.

The German became the youngest permanent Premier League manager since records began when he arrived in June, 2024, at 31.

Before his Albion move, Hurzeler was in charge of St. Pauli.

During the 2023/24 season, he guided them to the 2. Bundesliga title, securing promotion to the German top flight.

He turned the team from relegation contenders into champions, introducing a possession-based style and winning 20 of their 34 matches to achieve it.
