Arne Slot has been facing a lot of criticism this season after Liverpool’s form suffered a sharp decline on the back of their 2024/25 Premier League title win.
Fans want Slot gone amid their team failing to come close to challenging for the title and potentially missing out on a Champions League place this season.
At present, Liverpool are backing their manager publicly, though Chris Sutton has suggested that could change with defeats in the FA Cup and Champions League.

Defeats to Manchester City and PSG could cost Arne Slot
The Merseyside outfit face Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon before taking on PSG in the first of two Champions League quarter-final ties next week.
Lose both of those games, and Sutton thinks that Slot might be in more trouble than he currently is.
Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “I still think it would be extremely harsh if they end up parting ways after the guy won them the title in his first year in the job but this feels like a huge week or two for Slot, and for Liverpool’s whole campaign, with the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Paris St-Germain to come in France on Wednesday.
“Right now, Liverpool are miles off the team they were last season and beating City probably feels more achievable than getting past PSG.

“I’m not convinced they will do it though, and if they end up going out of both competitions in the space of 10 days then the Liverpool fans are going to be even more disgruntled.”

Manchester City vs Liverpool score prediction
While Sutton is painting Saturday as something of a must-win for Slot, he doesn’t think Liverpool will get the job done.
The Sky Blues have already won both the Premier League meetings this term, and the pundit has backed them to win 3-1 on April 4.
He said: “City could really do with getting Erling Haaland firing again, while this is Liverpool’s first game since Mohamed Salah announced he will be leaving at the end of the season.
“There are so many different ways to look at this tie, and who might step up to win it for either team, but City are at home and they have also beaten Liverpool twice already this season in the league. I just have a feeling they will take this one as well.”
