Dominik Szoboszlai has reaffirmed his love for Liverpool as a club and city amid rumoured contract extension talks.
In February, a report from Hungarian outlet Blikkreported that contract negotiations between Szoboszlai and Liverpool were underway.
Then, later that week, TEAMtalk claimed that Liverpool were ready to meet the midfielder’s contract demands, totalling around £300,000 per week, which his performances this season have justified.
Despite playing nearly 40% of his games this season at right back, Szoboszlai has 12 goals and eight assists for the Reds.
So now, to hear that he loves the life he and his family have on Merseyside is music to the ears.
In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Szoboszlai spoke candidly about life at Anfield.
“I love being here,” he stated emphatically. “My family is happy, I love the club, I love the fans, I love to play for this club and that is it.”
On how becoming a father has shaped him, Szoboszlai said: “It has changed me a lot. You know, I was a really angry person after games if something didn’t work as much as I wanted it to, but since she was born I get angry now for two minutes and then I think about her and then I realise what the most important thing in life is.”

Szoboszlai has become the no.8 that Liverpool hoped Naby Keita would be
When Naby Keita was handed the No. 8 jersey, it was with the hope that he would be able to do the iconic kit number justice. Injuries, however, stripped the Guinean of his initially sky-high potential.
Szoboszlai has been able to make good on the £60m fee paid to sign him from RB Leipzig and looks almost like a carbon copy of the player Gerrard was with some obvious differences and caveats: no player can be Gerrard.
Although he recognises comparison to Gerrard is inevitable and a “big compliment”, the Hungarian says: “I just try to do my own story… I know how it feels to be new and how hard it is to come to the Premier League, especially Liverpool where you are always expected to win trophies.”
Szoboszlai has a chance to win the Champions League with Liverpool in his home country
Liverpool face PSG in Paris next week in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, and victory will take Szoboszlai one step closer to playing the final in Budapest.

While he says he has tried to ignore the excitement at potentially playing the biggest game in club football in front of his compatriots, Szoboszlai admits that he is failing to contain his hopes.
The midfielder said: “I don’t like to talk about it but it is impossible not to think about it. So sometimes I just have a little hint in my head and talk with my wife sometimes how it will be and I cannot imagine it to be honest, to be there in Budapest, to play the final, it is what I am working for every day.
“Especially in Hungary in my country, everyone knows what it means to be Hungarian and my biggest dream was to win the Champions League in my whole career. So if I could win it there, I would sign it now.”
