Yan Diomande has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while, but he has also attracted attention from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
The RB Leipzig talent has been mooted as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, while a price tag of €100m (around £87m) has been put on his head.
Now, an insight into Manchester United’s interest has been provided this weekend, though Liverpool are still viewed as favourites to land the winger out of the Premier League clubs.

Liverpool most likely Premier League team to sign Yan Diomande
Man Utd will most likely finish the season above the Reds, which should see them secure extra revenue from Champions League football.
Despite this, FlashScore report that Diomande’s aforementioned price tag of around £87m ‘would be out of reach’ for the Red Devils.
Utd would prefer to see the player’s transfer fee go down, but even so, they are thought to be putting more effort into signing a new midfielder this summer.
The report also mentions how Tottenham have looked at the Leipzig star in 2025/26, but they crucially say that ‘Liverpool are now seen as strongest Premier League contenders’.

RB Leipzig stance on swap deal for Cody Gakpo
While Man Utd are on course for a revenue boost due to a top-four/five finish, the Merseyside outfit are just three points above eighth right now.
Concerns about Liverpool’s summer transfer window have been mooted, and missing out on Champions League money may hinder their ability to sign big names.
One way around this could have been using current players in swap deals, and Cody Gakpo to Leipzig has been mooted.
However, Christian Falk has already explained that the Bundesliga outfit have no interest in such a move.
He said: “There were rumours about a swap deal. Cody Gakpo could be the man who goes to Leipzig and on the other hand Diomande to Liverpool, but there’s no truth in it.
“I heard there was no offer from Liverpool because of this player and also Leipzig wouldn’t make this swap deal because he’s too expensive. They have another profile, they’re searching for younger players who can develop, so they’re not interested in Gakpo.”
