West Ham Exclusive by Claret & Hugh
Claret & Hugh have learned today that reports suggesting one of West Ham’s top players could remain at the club in the event of relegation are “nonsense”.
Yesterday, claims began circulating that Jean-Clair Todibo was considered a “massive” part of the Hammers’ future. As a result, some speculated he could stay at the London Stadium even if the club dropped into the Championship.
However, a top transfer insider told Claret & Hugh directly this morning:
“That’s absolute rubbish. Nobody is safe if West Ham get relegated, and Todibo is too good to play in the Championship.”
Todibo was signed for £35 million from Nice this summer after initially spending a season on loan in East London. The former Barcelona and France international has been excellent since Nuno Espírito Santo took charge.

Relegation Could Trigger Mass Exodus
Claret & Hugh have been told there would be a queue of clubs lining up for Todibo’s signature should the Irons suffer the dreaded drop, with the chances of retaining him described as “slim to none”.
Despite all the praise he has received, Todibo could find himself on the bench for tomorrow’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leeds United.
Such has been the impact of Axel Disasi and the form of Konstantinos Mavropanos, Nuno may opt to leave Todibo out if he reverts to a back four.
