Vladimir Smicer reckons Jurgen Klopp could still make a return to management at a top European club. But the ex-Liverpool player accepts he would never take charge of another English side apart from the Reds.

Klopp, 58, recently returned to Anfield as an LFC Foundation ambassador, calling it a "very special experience". Alongside that position, Klopp serves as Red Bull's head of global soccer, a role he took up at the beginning of last year, six months after leaving Liverpool

The former Liverpool boss has not returned to coaching since leaving Anfield. Smicer, though, does not rule out a return.

He told BetVictor after featuring in the LFC Foundation charity match: "Jurgen Klopp at another major European club, it's possible, it's possible because, for me, he's still a very young coach.

"And a very, very good one, I think one of the best ever coaches in football. So it wouldn't surprise me if any clubs want him to sign, that's for sure.

"It's just fantastic that his commitment to Liverpool is unbelievable, and, as he said, in England, he will never manage a different club than Liverpool. Abroad, we'll see, but so far, I think he's happy, he's enjoying his time.

"It was just unbelievable that he came out for the LFC Foundation to help the cause, help raise the money for the people in need; he's a great man." Klopp said after the charity match that he "enjoyed every second."

The club's iconic former boss explained: "My role was definitely not to have a lot of words; I was here for the foundation and to be part of a really special experience.

"For me, a very special experience after a while – being around, being that close, seeing all the Liverpool lads and then seeing the Dortmund lads as well.

"That was like 80 per cent of my players. You don't meet very often, and to have them all together in one room, it's really cool.

"It was really, really, really nice, and the people suck it in. It's just so nice to see all the boys playing – but I think Thiago alone was worth the ticket!"
