The noises coming out of Italy appear to suggest that West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville may be a topic of discussion once again at Serie A giants AS Roma this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Roma made an ‘important’ approach for Summerville back in January.
West Ham United had no intention of selling then. Not with Premier League survival on the line and the Dutchman just starting to come into form. With Crysencio Summerville under contract until 2029, the Hammers will be equally determined to retain their free-scoring winger for the upcoming campaign too, provided they are still a Premier League team at that point.

But if Roma signed Bryan Zaragoza after failing to lure Summerville away from the London Stadium, the likely departure of the Bayern Munich loanee will leave the Giallorossi back to square one in their pursuit of a right-footed, left-sided attacker.
West Ham United hope to keep Crysencio Summerville as Roma prepare for another winger move
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma and Bayern agreed on a deal that would see Zaragoza complete a £10 million permanent transfer if the Giallorossi secured Champions League qualification, or the winger played 50 per cent of the available minutes.
Since then, however, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have slipped to sixth, ahead of Sunday’s trip to leaders Inter Milan. Thrice-capped Spain international Zaragoza has played only one minute in their last four Serie A matches.

Gazzetta report that he will not be a Roma player in 2026/27.

“Zaragoza? I expected more,” admits Gasperini.
One can expect to see Summerville’s name mentioned in conjunction with Roma again, then, though a lot has changed since West Ham declared the former Leeds winger ‘untouchable’ three months ago.
Should they survive, Summerville will surely command a fee in excess of £60 million, well beyond Roma’s financial reach.
The priority now, though, is helping him get back to full fitness after a few weeks out.

Summerville not yet fully fit as Leeds loom in the FA Cup
Nuno Espirito Santo admitted Summerville remains touch-and-go ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against his old employers, the calf injury he picked up in the fifth round against Brentford still lingering.
“We’re all trying to get him [fit] as soon as possible. Assessing day by day, to see how he improves,” Nuno said during his Friday press conference.
“First, we have to assess; if it’s good, if he feels good. We are not in that point yet. Still one day to go and then we take decisions.”
In an interview with Algemeen Dagblad recently, Summerville did not rule out leaving West Ham in the near future.
