“I’m open..” – Leeds United man teases summer transfer exit after Daniel Farke snub

Leeds United winger Jack Harrison is unsurprisingly weighing up his long-term options ahead of the summer window.

United’s fight to stay in the division will be the key factor in deciding what follows in the transfer market this summer.

Key arrivals are required, but exits are on the cards too, irrespective of the club’s status. The difference is that staying in the Premier League gives Leeds all the power.

Jack Harrison makes “difficult” Leeds United transfer exit admission

One of those surely expected to leave Elland Road this summer is Jack Harrison. The winger returned to West Yorkshire after promotion to work his way back into the plans, only to be poorly received by the fans and barely play a part.

He joined Fiorentina in January looking to revive his stalling career. And, he has played a decent part in their fight to stay in the Serie A.

Even though he’s fallen significantly out of favour and looks unlikely to be signed permanently with a £6million buy option, Harrison is enjoying his time in Florence.

“It was a difficult start to the season,” Harrison tells FourFourTwo. “It was something that I hadn’t faced before in my career for an extended period of time, just not playing.

“It’s very positive coming here. I’m getting more minutes and playing in the Conference League has been an incredible experience, travelling and playing, a small taste of what it would be like in the Champions League.”

Jack Harrison confirms he’s exploring Leeds United exit this summer after tough Elland Road return

Beyond this loan spell at Fiorentina, Harrison will have to make a decision on where he wants to play his football in 26/27.

Daniel Farke took a look at him early in the campaign and promptly decided he had better Premier League options. So, one would expect that Harrison will weigh up an exit in July.

In the same interview, the 29-year-old confirmed his intention to explore opportunities this summer.

“Coming out here has opened my mind to a lot more possibilities,” Harrison continued. “Just being open and adaptable to go anywhere and to find that happiness. That’s a key thing for me.

“If I want to be playing at my best – which contributes a lot towards happiness as well – I have to be somewhere where it’s the best thing for my happiness as well. Finding that place would be incredible.

“Wherever that is, I’m not quite sure, but I’m open to possibilities.”

Jack Harrison needs to leave Leeds United this summer on permanent transfer

It’s fair to say that an exit on permanent terms for Harrison would benefit all parties this summer.

We all know that he has no real future here. That’s after his decision to leave the club for two years on loan, while others stayed to fight for promotion.

Not only that, it’s not good for Harrison’s career to be clearly at the bottom of the pecking order out wide. Farke has made that abundantly clear.

Fiorentina don’t look like signing him. But, a good run of form to help Fiorentina go far in the Conference League could be just what he needs.
