Everton are in talks to sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City ahead of the summer.

Grealish made the move to Merseyside last year on a season-long loan, with Everton keen to retain his services for the 2026/27 term.

Over recent days, it has been suggested that Everton are locked in talks over Grealish with Man City.

Jack Grealish holds significant contract hurdles for Everton to overcome

It has been suggested that Grealish is open to remaining at Everton on the back of his loan spell this season.

However, according to Team Talk, sources have shared the incentives still on the table in Manchester that will reward Grealish greatly in his final year.

“One contact described the last year of Grealish’s contract as ‘eye-watering’ – given bonuses, loyalty payments as well as the basic wage,” said Graeme Bailey.

“He is one of the highest paid players in the Premier League and whilst he is open to some talks, he isn’t just going to walk away from the deal.”

Everton fans are desperate to see Grealish stay at the club beyond his loan deal, with a compromise from all parties potentially needing to be met.

Everton must pay the price to sign Grealish

Everton will not pay Grealish’s £50m buy clause included in his loan deal, with a significantly smaller fee being earmarked by the Blues.

The Englishman will turn 31 years of age in September, which leaves him with a big decision to make this summer on his future.

Under David Moyes, Grealish has found his love for the game again at Everton given the trust he has been given in the starting XI.

Up until his injury blow, it had been a really positive campaign for the winger, who had returned Everton eight goal involvements.

It feels unlikely that he would get the same opportunity back at City, which makes the move to Merseyside even more appealing.

Although Everton will want the best deal possible, it is crucial they get this signing over the line due to what it signifies for the ambition of the club.

Everton recouped huge revenue by signing Grealish through shirt sales and his signing alone could attract other players this summer.

The Friedkins seemingly want to get a head start on negotiations with City.
