It will be hoped that Burnley’s prolonged break without a match will give some of their long-term injured players a realistic chance of getting back up to speed.

During that time, we’ve had the March international break followed by the FA Cup quarter finals, which the Clarets took no part of.
With three weeks without a game, Burnley’s seven injured players should have made some progress in their recoveries, with at least a couple of them closing in on a return.
Here’s the latest as we understand it:
Zeki Amdouni
The forward is closing in on a long-awaited return from an ACL injury, which has kept him out for the entirety of the season. Back in training, but he’s not quite match ready just yet.

Speaking on March 12, Burnley boss Scott Parker said the forward was still a “few weeks away”, but the hope is that he's still able to play some part this season.
Jordan Beyer
The defender continues to be sidelined with some niggling issues after recovering from a long-standing knee injury, which has kept him out of action since December 2023.
In any case, the defender isn’t named in Burnley’s official 25-man squad, so he won’t be playing any games until the start of next season at the earliest.
Josh Cullen
The skipper won’t be back until the start of next season after suffering a devastating ACL injury in the game against Everton.
When he suffered the crushing blow at the end of December, it was estimated he would be facing around nine months on the sidelines.

Hannibal
The midfielder is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during Burnley’s last outing, the 3-1 defeat to Fulham.
The severity of the injury isn’t yet known, but the 23-year-old didn’t link up with the Tunisian national side during the international break and is set to miss a good chunk of the final seven games of the campaign.
But Hannibal will be desperate to play some part before the season is up, with Tunisia in World Cup action in June.
Connor Roberts
The Welshman is in a similar position to Amdouni in that he’s returned to training but, as of March 12, was still said to be “some weeks away” from being considered for selection.
The experienced full-back hasn’t played a single game this season having suffered an Achilles injury last summer.
Mike Tresor
The winger is now back in training after recovering from an ankle injury that has kept him out since the end of December.
Given the three-week break between games, you’d assume the Belgian is available for selection for next weekend’s clash against Brighton.
Axel Tuanzebe
The defender hasn’t played for Burnley since suffering an Achilles injury, with his last game coming at Sunderland at the start of February.
But having been called up for international duty with DR Congo, Tuanzebe could now come back into the reckoning for the Brighton game.
