Joe Hart gives verdict on Jordan Pickford potentially losing England spot to James Trafford

Jordan Pickford has been England’s number one for several years.

The Everton goalkeeper made his England debut in November 2017 in a friendly match against Germany, and since then, he’s been a mainstay.

Jordan Pickford has collected a whopping 82 caps for the Three Lions, so he’s closing in on the prestigious 100 mark.

The only threat to achieving that feat would be Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, who has made a real name for himself in recent weeks.

Trafford was sensational in City’s League Cup final win against Arsenal, and he starred against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final yesterday.

That said, Joe Hart has given his verdict on whether Pickford, who turned 32 last month, could lose his spot to the Man City star.

“It’s tough,” Hart explained.

“You know what, Jordan’s been so good and still only 32 years old. He’s been excellent in England shirt, brilliant for Everton.

“But that’s the thing. You know, I knew when I was playing for England that I was established. There’s so many good goalkeepers out there.

“Everyone wants your jersey. But again, like with this goalkeeper unit here, they’re working together. And then you’ve got to put the pressure on the manager, ultimately.”

Pickford has played in four major tournaments and will be the number one at the World Cup in America this summer.

No England goalkeeper has made more appearances in major tournaments than the Toffees shot-stopper.
