Easter holiday activities for kids at Belfast leisure centres this April

Available activities include multi-sports, swimming and arts and crafts, plus top-quality football coaching through Liverpool Football Club Foundation Camps

A host of holiday programmes for young people are set to run across Belfast this Easter, with a variety of sports and activity-based camps on offer to keep children engaged and active throughout the school holidays.

Belfast City Council has teamed up with GLL, as part of the European City of Sport 2026 initiative, to deliver the schemes at leisure centres across Belfast throughout April.

"We understand how important it is to introduce children to a healthy lifestyle early on. That's why we offer a range of term-time and holiday activities for kids that help them learn about fitness and develop key skills while having fun at the same time."

Venues throughout Belfast will run the programmes, including Andersonstown Leisure Centre, Falls Leisure Centre, Olympia Leisure Centre, Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre, and Grove Wellbeing Centre.

The majority of holiday schemes will operate from Monday 6th April to Friday 10th April, or Wednesday 8th April to Friday 10th April, with sessions generally running between 10am and 2pm daily.

The scheme caters for all age groups, from infants and toddlers through to activities suited to older youngsters, and is brimming with entertaining options for families this Easter.

Available activities include multi-sports, swimming and arts and crafts, plus options such as football and gymnastics sessions at Belvoir Activity Centre, which will take place from 8th to 10th April.

Each camp operates from 10am to 3pm and will be held at the following centres and dates.

The activities also provide youngsters with top-quality football coaching through Liverpool Football Club Foundation Camps, One Day Football Camps across Belfast, delivered by LFC Foundation and overseen by UEFA-qualified coaches. Sessions at Brook Leisure Centre 9th April and Avoniel 10th April.

Additionally, there will be inclusive "Active and Able" camps for youngsters with additional needs, held at venues including Avoniel and Brook, operating from 1.30pm to 3.30pm between 8th to 10th April.

The activity programme features inclusive sessions for children with special educational needs and disabilities including disability swimming, basketball lessons and SEN Bounce sessions.

The programmes are anticipated to draw in over 3,000 youngsters, offering activities such as football, tennis, athletics and fencing for children aged five to 14.
