Kinga Szemik has been shortlisted for the Barclays Women’s Super League Save of the Month award for March after an outstanding performance for West Ham United.
West Ham Women's first choice goalkeeper produced a superb first-half save to deny Julia Zigiotti Olme during the Hammers’ goalless draw with Manchester United Women recently.
It was one of five saves she made on the day, playing a key role in securing the team’s second league clean sheet of the season at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
Szemik’s impressive reflexes saw her claw away a dangerous clipped effort, highlighting a strong defensive display from the entire squad.
She is nominated alongside Daphne van Domselaar, Jennifer Falk and Lize Kop for the award, with voting open until 10am BST on Tuesday 7 April.
