So where is this mini exodus of Villa players? As of today, August 1st 2025, Villa still have their main players at the club. Emiliano Martínez looked like a dead cert to leave after those emotional scenes at the final home match of last season—but with just 14 days until the new Premier League campaign kicks off, it doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere.
There were whispers about Leon Bailey heading to the Middle East, but he’s still here—along with Jacob Ramsey, Boubacar Kamara, Morgan Rogers, and Ollie Watkins. A few years ago, those kinds of rumours—and even a few tears—would have almost certainly ended in departures. Not now though.
We’re now at a point in the off-season where it’s highly unlikely that any of them will leave. And frankly, it would be madness to let that happen now. More likely, we’ll see a quality addition come in—hopefully a striker. But either way, it looks like the main body of last season’s squad will remain intact, and that’s fantastic. UTV
