New two-week injury setback confirmed for Leeds United

Leeds United are going to be without Dan James for a couple of weeks after a new injury setback.

United’s FA Cup clash with the Irons is underway at the London Stadium with both sides looking to book a place at Wembley.

Daniel Farke has gone strong as he looks to continue what could be a very memorable season with survival and a rarely seen cup run.

New Dan James injury setback confirmed prior to Leeds United clash vs West Ham

The lineup sees Farke answer the calls of the Leeds fans to go attacking and take a few risks.

Included are Ao Tanaka and Noah Okafor most notably in that regard. But, there’s no sign of Dan James or Gabriel Gudmundsson.

The YEP’s Graham Smyth confirmed pre-match that a minor issue for Gudmundsson keeps him out. However, James is missing with an adductor strain that rules him out for a “couple of weeks”.

That rough estimate could see James sitting out for this game today and the trip to Manchester United, possibly back in time for our meeting with Wolves.

Dan James facing uphill battle to have any impact this season at Leeds United

You do have to worry about James right now.

He’s so frequently getting muscle issues, and that’s not a good sign for someone who relies heavily on explosive running power.

We can’t rush him back to fitness. But, you have to wonder if his Wales duty has had this impact on it.
