Manchester United chiefs will be pleased with their £300 million sponsorship deal when looking at the wider landscape of the Premier League.
In late 2023, it was confirmed that Manchester United struck a sponsorship deal with Snapdragon as the club’s new front-of-shirt sponsor.
The Snapdragon deal is worth £60 million per year, which is an improvement on the previous £47m-per-year deal agreed with TeamViewer.
It is the joint-biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the Premier League alongside Manchester City, who are sponsored by Etihad Airways.

In 2024, United confirmed that the Snapdragon deal was extended and is now set to run until 2029.
Overall, United are set to earn £300 million from the sponsorship agreement, while other Premier League rivals are currently scouring the market for partners.
As reported by The Guardian, because of the imminent ban of betting sponsors on the front of Premier League shirts, as many as 12 Premier League clubs have not signed contracts yet for shirt sponsorships for the 2026/27 campaign.

Several Premier League rivals are expected to start next season without a shirt sponsor, which will have a significant impact on their revenue.
Meanwhile, United have locked down a long-term partnership with Snapdragon, who are eligible to continue their agreement as they are not related to betting. The Red Devils continue to be one of the biggest commercial attractions in football despite a lack of success in recent years.

The Premier League is set to introduce new squad-cost ratio rules next season which allows clubs to spend up to 85% of their revenue on wages and transfer fees.
As a result, there is a race among Premier League clubs to grow revenue to maximise their investment capabilities. United broke their revenue record with £667m in 2024/25.
Ineos have launched ‘Project 90’ to grow revenue by £90m per season, and United’s commercial income continues to dominate the Premier League.

If success on the pitch follows next season, United’s revenue can be expected to boom with a return to the Champions League providing a boost of around £100 million.
While some may have been sceptical about United settling for a long-term £60m-per-year shirt sponsor in 2023, in hindsight it now looks like a masterstroke.
