In many ways it feels like Leeds United forward Joe Gelhardt has been linked with a move from the Whites to Rangers since before 49ers Enterprises invested in the Scottish giants. The fact Leeds United's owners have their stake in the Glasgow club too only served to increase that speculation.
And so, it's probably no surprise to see that same speculation return again as we edge closer to the summer and the opening of the transfer window. Talk has intensified over Easter that Rangers are eager to make a play for Gelhardt, who is currently enjoying his best season by some distance while playing on loan at Hull City.
Gelhardt has suggested he would like to stay in Hull next season and the Tigers have made no secret of the fact they want to keep the player, however much will depend on the division they find themselves in amid a promotion push, and how much Leeds want for a player who still has a year to run on his current deal.

Rangers would likely be in a stronger position financially to meet Leeds' request, with the Whites chairman Paraag Marathe no doubt happy to do a deal with Rangers supremo Andrew Cavenagh, who until recently he sat alongside on the Rangers board.
Regardless of whether Leeds survive or not in their relegation fight in the Premier League, there's an expectation Gelhardt will move on in the summer.
