Kane, who has played with Lewis for England, heaped praise on the Toffees target back in November 2023.
“The boy is really good, really good without ball or with ball,” the Bayern Munich striker stated.
“Shame about penalty but he can be very proud with his debut. Keep working hard and be back with us trying to work on the pitch.”
Joe Cole is also a big fan of Lewis: “Outstanding. Pep Guardiola waxed lyrical about him and tonight he was so difficult to pick up for the opposition.
“He allowed England to build through the lines much better than they did against Malta. He was effective. I think he is an outstanding footballer.”
Lewis hasn’t played as much as he would’ve liked this season, as he’s played just 312 minutes of Premier League football.
However, Moyes could offer him regular game time and a platform to get back into the England set-up, which could entice him to make the switch to Merseyside.
