Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Aurélien Tchouaméni, with Spanish outlet MARCA claiming the Premier League side are monitoring his situation closely ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window.
The report suggests LIVERPOOL are prepared to test the resolve of Real Madrid, who signed the France international in 2022 and view him as a significant part of their long-term midfield rebuild.
According to the Spanish publication, Liverpool have maintained an interest in Tchouaméni since his days at Monaco and even attempted to sign him before his move to Spain. With the club expected to strengthen their midfield again this summer, the midfielder has reportedly re-emerged as a potential high-profile target.
Tchouaméni, who has been a regular presence in the Madrid over the past few seasons, has made strides in both defensive and progressive metrics, becoming one of Madrid’s most reliable deep-lying operators.
Nonetheless, with fierce competition from Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham, speculation continues over whether the Frenchman would consider a new challenge if a major Premier League club came calling.
Real Madrid are not believed to be actively looking to sell, and any formal approach is expected to be met with firm resistance. Tchouaméni cost over €80 million, and Madrid would likely demand a fee well beyond that figure. For LIVERPOOL, whose recruitment has traditionally been value-driven, such a move would represent one of the biggest transfers in their history.
Would Tchouaméni be interested in a Premier League move?
Assessing Tchouaméni’s potential interest in a switch to the Premier League requires balancing personal ambition, career trajectory and the stability he currently enjoys in Madrid.
On one hand, the midfielder has previously spoken about his admiration for English football, and Liverpool’s status as a title-challenging side could hold appeal. The Premier League remains one of the world’s most competitive and globally visible stages; many players view it as a proving ground that elevates their profile and sharpens their game.
However, Tchouaméni appears settled at Real Madrid, where he is trusted, developing, and competing for the biggest trophies in club football. Leaving such an environment would require a compelling sporting and financial offer.
