Opinion: Everton may be forced to abandon Harry Wilson deal after latest transfer development

Everton were very keen on signing Fulham winger Harry Wilson during the January transfer window.

In fact, Everton made contact with Fulham over a transfer, but the Cottagers decided to rebuff the enquiry.

Wilson has continued his exceptional form since then, having netted 11 goals whilst laying on seven assists in total this season.

Which of these players do you want to see Everton SIGN in 2026?

David Moyes has suggested that the Toffees could go back in for Wilson this summer if they qualify for European football.

However, they may be forced to move away from the deal after the latest transfer development.

Manchester United now want to sign Everton target Harry Wilson

It’s now being reported that Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Wilson’s situation at Fulham, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, who also note that Liverpool have not ruled out bringing him back to Anfield.

Either way, it seems as though Everton may have to pivot their plans and turn their focus away from Wilson.

The 69-cap Wales international may have his sights set on a move to Old Trafford, as they could be playing Champions League football.

The Toffees should certainly be drawing up a list of other winger targets, and it’s believed they’re monitoring Crysencio Summerville.

Summerville is on Moyes’ radar, having established himself as West Ham United’s talisman in their fight to survive relegation.

If the Hammers drop, a unique market opportunity could arise for Everton.
