Wednesday could end loan of Man City starlet after disciplinary issue

There is a possibility that Sheffield Wednesday attacker Joel Ndala will leave the club before the terms of his loan from Manchester City comes to an end, The Star understands.

The Star understands some form of disciplinary action has and will be taken against the talented teenager after he turned up late for the team’s travel arrangements ahead of their defeat at Stoke City on Good Friday. The 19-year-old, who signed for the Owls after his time with Hull City was brought to a premature end earlier this season, has been warned previously of his conduct having arrived late for their home clash with Millwall in February.

The club are believed to be considering how they handle the situation with Ndala, with The Star of the understanding that the strongest course of action could even see him return to his parent club, in doing so terminating a loan agreement that is otherwise designed to see him finish the campaign at S6.

Nothing is confirmed as of yet and all parties, including Manchester City, will come together to decide the best route forward for the youngster. Wednesday are understood to have a good working relationship with the Premier League giants and both clubs would have to come to an agreement should it be decided that the best course of action is for the loan be terminated officially.

“He was in the squad at Stoke but had some problems with his hamstring,” Owls boss Henrik Pedersen told The Star after Monday’s draw with Leicester City. “He didn’t train yesterday. There were players that were late (for the trip to Stoke), but we deal with this internally as we normally do when a player is late. There are always the same rules.”

England youth international Ndala has played eight times for Wednesday since arriving on deadline day of the January transfer window. He was left out of the squad entirely for the Leicester draw and though he was a regular off the bench in the lead up to the recent international break has not started for the Owls since defeat at Norwich City on February 25.
