For the second time this season, Hull City stopped runaway leaders Coventry City from scoring as the Tigers claimed what could be a valuable point in their own quest for promotion.

City were superb in the opening 20 minutes and came close to breaking the deadlock, with Joe Gelhardt angling just over, while John Egan saw a goalbound effort blocked by Liam Kitching after Carl Rushworth went AWOL.

Neither side was able to find the breakthrough, but in truth, both will probably be content with a point and an unbeaten Easter weekend.

Here's how Tigers reporter Barry Cooper rated the players at the MKM Stadium on Monday evening....

Ivor Pandur: Came back into the starting XI after being left out at Oxford United. Had very little to do in the first half aside from one regulation stop. Even less to do in the second, but did what he had to do well. 7/10

Lewie Coyle: Got into the Coventry box early on and almost carved out a glorious chance. Booked early in the second half for taking out Sakamoto. Out of position again, stuck at it. 8/10

Semi Ajayi: A good first half, dealing with Haji Wright impressively. Sometimes plays a pass he doesn't need to and gets his side into some trouble. A good night against the league's top scorers. 8/10

John Egan: Thought he'd scored the opener only to see Kitching's stunning block. Was excellent in the first half, so diligent in his work. Barely put a foot wrong all night. 8/10

Cody Drameh: Had two early sights of goal, with a shot blocked and then one blazed over the bar. Stuck to Mason-Clarke. A very good night. 8/10

Toby Collyer: A first start for the on-loan Manchester United midfielder, and he started well, winning the ball early, and looking neat and tidy on the ball. Probably City's best player in an absorbing first period and that continued in the second. Deserved his standing ovation when he departed. 8.5/10

Amir Hadziahmetovic: Started brightly, and dragged a shot wide inside 10 minutes. Battled really hard in the centre of the pitch up against Torp and Grimes. A really solid display. 7.5/10

Liam Millar: Lovely ball to find Gelhardt before executing a sumptuous turn to get away down the left before being fouled. Came in and out of the game, but was always a threat. 7/10

Joe Gelhardt: Fired inches over Rushworth's bar but was on the periphery thereafter in the first period. Plenty of toil, but it wasn't his night. 6/10

Matt Crooks: Shifted further forward into the number 10 role and looked much more effective than we'd seen on occasion recently when playing deeper. A proper shift. 7/10

Oli McBurnie: Was actually given a free-kick early on, before being penalised for winning the ball minutes later. Didn't have many sights of goal, aside from one header from a tight angle from a Coyle cross to the back post. Late header looped over. 6.5/10

Subs:

John Lundstram (for Collyer 73): Solid when he came on into what was a high-energy contest. Can be pleased with his work. 6.5/10

Lewis Koumas (for Gelhardt 73): Looked a threat out on the left with his pace, but lacked the quality with his final ball when it mattered. 6/10

Mo Belloumi (for Millar 73): Shot straight at Rushworth late on after McBurnie did really well to keep the ball in. 6/10

Kyle Joseph (for Crooks 82): Had half a sight of goal straight after coming on, and fed Drameh who shot over. 6/10
