Liverpool FC Women have earned a place in the semi-finals of the Women’s FA Cup after a 1-0 win against Charlton Athletic.

Their journey began with a dominant 6–0 win away at London Bees, which remains their biggest victory of the season.

That was followed by a hard-fought 2–1 home win over Sheffield United to book a quarter-final spot.

The defining moment came against Charlton Athletic where Liverpool needed extra time, and it was 18-year-old Zara Shaw who stepped up.

She scored in the 115th minute to seal a 1–0 win.

It was her ninth appearance after returning from a long-term ACL injury.

That goal underlined Liverpool’s ability to deliver under pressure.

League form has been inconsistent.

Liverpool sit 10th in the Women’s Super League, with four wins, five draws, and ten defeats.

They have scored 20 and conceded 29.

Despite that, their recent run across all competitions reads W–L–W–D–W.

Brighton, however, arrive in strong form.

Brighton & Hove Albion Women have taken down major opponents and their standout result was a 2–0 away win over Arsenal in the quarter-final.

They sit 6th in the league and are difficult to beat, with players like Kiko Seike and Fran Kirby providing them with experience.

From a Liverpool perspective, there is added pressure to deliver silverware.

The men’s side suffered a heavy 4-0 FA Cup exit against Manchester City at the Etihad, which only increases focus on the women’s campaign.

The semi-final, which will be played on Saturday 9th May or Sunday 10th May, will be played at Liverpool’s home ground, giving them a clear advantage.

The semi-finals , with final details yet to be confirmed.

Liverpool and Brighton have already met this season.

A 1–1 draw in November and a goalless stalemate in March show how tight this contest is.

Brighton’s strength lies in their counter-attacking play as Fran Kirby remains a key threat with her experience in big games.

This is a chance for Liverpool to reach their first FA Cup final since 1995 and one game now stands between them and that opportunity.
