Rob Edwards has called on Wolves to improve their service into Tolu Arokodare to help the striker increase his goal tally.

The summer signing has had spells in and out of the team, netting six times in all competitions and three times in the Premier League this season.

Arokodare scored the equaliser against Brentford in Wolves’ last outing and Edwards believes the striker is capable of finding a rich vein of form.

"Tolu is a real focal point for us,” Edwards said.

"He's someone who's working really hard and he's actually been very diligent without the ball.

"He's been someone that obviously you can try and then play into and now we want to get him into more positions.

"That's down to us and the team as well to try and help him get into positions to score more.

"He has had some opportunities and he hasn't taken all of them, but it's good that he's been there. But, of course, we want to get him there more consistently and we want to provide more chances for him and that's down to us and the whole team.

"I know strikers are judged on goals and, of course, there's going to be questions on that, but we need to be better at that as a whole team and I don't want to put too much pressure just on the number nines for that.

"We're always pushing and demanding more from them, but it's the whole group in terms of creating chances as well that we need to improve on.

"Look at his previous life before he came here and he's scored loads of goals, one-touch finishing between the posts, so you can see what type of goals he can score and he's capable of.

"It's certainly an area that's difficult for us at this level at the moment, but it's an area we know we need to improve on.”

Wolves signed Arokodare for an initial £22.5million and it remains to be seen if he will drop down to the Championship, when the club are relegated.

"I really like him,” Edwards said when asked about the striker playing in the second tier.

"I think he's a really interesting guy, really wants to learn, really open to taking on information. He's always in with the analysts and trying to look at the opposition and trying to look at areas that he can improve on in his game. We're really enjoy working with him.

"I suppose what we've got to look at then is what's right for the whole football club with every individual and whether that individual is really motivated to want to be here and help us as well. That's a factor that we've got to look at.

"But in the right here and the right now, it's not the biggest focus for me, I want to try and get the best out of him right now.”
