Wolves
Wolves’ Marshall Munetsi could extend his stay at Paris FC with a summer transfer.
He arrived at Molineux from Stade de Reims in February 2025 and played 31 matches of which 15 were from the first half of this season.
The midfielder wasn’t happy with his life at Wolves and moved to Paris FC on loan in the winter market.
Prior to joining them, he had attracted interest from other French clubs like FC Nantes. At that time, Sport Witness relayed news that his current club were more convincing than the rest.
The 29-year-old’s decision to return to France has worked out as he gained prominence since the start of February.
His Ligue 1 stats are as follows:
Appearances: 11
Starts: 7
Total minutes: 699
Minutes per game: 64
Tackles per game: 0.8
Clearances per game: 1.7
Duels won per game: 3.7
Wolves man gives encouragement
L’Equipe have a report on Marshall Munetsi’s impact at Paris FC and the possibility of extending his stay.
The Wolves owned player has also scored four goals, helping the French club collect six points. At the weekend, he scored an equaliser in his side’s 1-1 draw against FC Lorient.
Stéphane Gilli was manager when he arrived at the Ligue 1 side and played a key role in convincing Munetsi. Antoine Kombouaré replaced him in February.
“What’s happening here is fantastic. I’m thinking of coach Stéphane Gilli. We had talked a lot, the two of us, and he spoke highly of the locker room, saying I would find an ideal environment,” he said.
Family happy with current situation
The newspaper immediately stated the ‘risk was very limited’ over joining Paris FC. Taking his performances into account, L’Equipe insist it wouldn’t be surprising if they were to seriously consider keeping him.
The Zimbabwe international, for his part, hints he’s open to extending his stay.
“I feel good here alongside some players I know. We have a good time together, and you can see that on the field. You can’t buy that kind of atmosphere, it’s just there. I came for six months, and I’m focused on the six remaining matches,” Munetsi explained.
“We’ll see at the end of the season during our discussions. This is a wonderful project. My family likes Paris. My two boys were born here in France. It’s also a bit like my home country.”
Our take: Wolves have decision to make
Transfermarkt value Marshall Munetsi, who has a contract until 2028, at €12m. Paris FC’s decision on whether to retain him remains to be seen.
Should they decide not to keep the player, the Zimbabwean wouldn’t be short of options. In that case, Wolves then have to make a decision on his future in the summer.
