New date for Leeds United's Premier League trip to AFC Bournemouth confirmed

Leeds United’s trip to AFC Bournemouth has been brought forward to Wednesday, April 22.

Daniel Farke’s side knocked West Ham United out at the quarter-final stage and will now face Chelsea in the semi-final at Wembley on either April 25 or April 26.

Chelsea’s visit to Brighton & Hove Albion has also been brought forward and will take place on Tuesday, April 21.

Manchester City are due to face Championship outfit Southampton in the other FA Cup semi-final and have also seen their schedule amended. Pep Guardiola’s men will now make the journey to Burnley on April 22.

Premier League schedule amended

A statement issued by the Premier League read: “The Premier League has confirmed the new dates and kick-off times for three matches that have been moved from Matchweek 34 due to clubs' participation in the FA Cup semi-finals on 26 and 27 April.

“The fixtures involving Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea, AFC Bournemouth and Leeds United, and Burnley and Manchester City have all been moved to the midweek before the FA Cup semi-final weekend. All three matches will be shown live in the UK on Sky Sports.”

Here are the amended dates.

Tuesday, April 21

Brighton & Hove Albion v Chelsea, 8pm

Wednesday, April 22

AFC Bournemouth v Leeds United, 8pm

Burnley v Manchester City, 8pm

Leeds United’s hectic season

Leeds are set to compete in an FA Cup semi-final for the first time since 1987, when they were bettered by eventual winners Coventry City at Hillsborough.

A battle for Premier League survival is playing out alongside their FA Cup journey and the Whites sit 15th in the table, four points above 18th-placed West Ham.
