PSG winger Bradley Barcola has returned to training ahead of Liverpool visiting the Parc Des Prince on Wednesday evening.

Barcola suffered an ankle sprain in the second leg of PSG’s big 8-2 aggregate win over Chelsea in the round of 16. He had been in the form of his life, scoring in both legs against Chelsea to take his tally to 12 goals for the season, and had been one of the most dangerous wide players in Europe.

However, the Frenchman was spotted in PSG’s training session ahead of the Liverpool clash:

Speaking on Thursday, Enrique said of Barcola:

“Will he be fit for the second leg against Liverpool? I don’t know, I can’t give you that information,” Enrique said. “You can’t ask Bradley Barcola that question.”

“When I speak to him, I ask him how he’s feeling. But there’s no rush. The most important thing is that he recovers well. When will he be ready? I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see how he progresses.”

Barcola has been in the starting XI for each of PSG’s 12 Champions League games this season, contributing two goals and three assists.

The news will come as a concern for Liverpool. Slot’s side will be well aware of the threat the Frenchman poses – his pace, directness and ability to create chances out of nothing make him one of the most difficult wingers to contain in European football.

A fully fit Barcola returning for the second leg at Anfield could yet prove to be the decisive factor in the tie, giving PSG a significant weapon just when Liverpool will be hoping to finish the job on home soil.
