Opportunustic signing for FSG: Liverpool receive boost in transfer for £43m Real Madrid gem

Liverpool have received fresh hope of signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga after a new claim from Fabrizio Romano.

Last month, I wrote that Liverpool would be silly not to sign Camavinga if he’s available for as little as €50 million (£43.6m). The Frenchman is so talented, and that price point is too good to turn down for a player of his ability.

It was in reaction to a report from La Liga reporter Matteo Moretto, who stated that Real Madrid are open to selling Camavinga in the summer transfer window.

He claimed that Madrid will “study any offer over €50m” when the season ends.

Fabrizio Romano has now reported on the future of the 23-year-old, who has just two years remaining on his Madrid contract. The French international reportedly earns a base wage of €240,000 per week (£209k/week).

Fabrizio Romano discloses Real Madrid stance on Eduardo Camavinga’s future

Madrid are reportedly willing to sell Camavinga if they right deal is offered, but they are under no circumstances desperate to sell nor are they pushing the Frenchman out of the club this summer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano explained: “We should remind that Camavinga is a very important player. Maybe he had some difficult moments, also against Mallorca the other day, not in his best form.

“But he remains a really, really important player. We’re not talking about a player that is completely out of the Real Madrid project.

“Real Madrid don’t consider Camavinga out of the project or a player they have to sell at all costs.

“But… if they receive a good proposal, Real Madrid could consider the situation of Camavinga in the summer. That’s the case, that’s the situation.

“Then, if this big proposal that’s attractive for Camavinga and attractive for Real Madrid doesn’t come, Real Madrid are not desperate.”

Liverpool are most in need of a defensive midfielder, but a player with Camavinga’s talent and versatility is always one that the club will be keeping an eye on.

FSG, known for their love for an opportunistic transfer, will be tracking Camavinga’s situation over the summer, but the World Cup will make this deal complicated, given that players will be focusing on the tournament and not calls from agents and clubs.
