A hardy bunch of Sheffield United fans who made the long journey to Bristol City for yesterday’s Championship clash were rewarded with a more familiar Blades performance despite slipping to defeat at Ashton Gate. A half-time rocket from Chris Wilder inspired a front-footed display in the second half.
It wasn’t enough to get back into the game but that was only because of an inspired display from Radek Vitek, the on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper who kept the Blades at bay with a string of fine saves.
Defeat capped a disappointing Easter weekend for United as they let slip a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 with Swansea City on Friday afternoon.
