**Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is now a man “on the ropes” at the club and his sacking could be imminent, according to former scout Mick Brown.**
Patience is wearing very thin with the Dutchman, with a big chunk of the Reds’ fanbase feeling a change in the dugout is essential sooner rather than later.

_“The pressure is certainly building on Slot. He’s on the ropes and questions are being asked because this season has not been good enough, and the good will from last season is running out._
_“They’re out of the FA Cup after that huge defeat against Man City which hasn’t gone down well with the fans, and I can’t imagine the club are happy either. I think they could justify their issues with the idea that they might win a trophy, but that’s not going to happen now I don’t think._
_“If they now go and get knocked out of the Champions League against PSG, which is going to be a very difficult game for him, he’s in real trouble. Their Premier League form hasn’t been good enough to make up for it, they’re so up and down it’s hard to keep track of how they’re playing. Ultimately the blame for that falls on the manager and they’re not going to be happy with him.”_

But ultimately, the buck always stops with the manager, and his side looked poorly coached, lacking in fitness and devoid of a winning mentality.
Unless Liverpool miraculously win the Champions League this season, Slot needs to be sacked, with even a top-five finish in the Premier League not enough.
It would be sad to see the 47-year-old depart so soon after winning the title, but this season has been one of the worst in many years, and he may have to pay the price for that.
