Leeds United achieved a huge feat over the weekend as they booked a place in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. It was not an easy task as they had to go through a stubborn West Ham side.

Many fans thought the game was over at the London Stadium when the Whites had a 2-0 lead with less than 20 minutes to go. But the Hammers managed to get two goals in the space of three minutes to force extra time. The game eventually went to penalties and Lucas Perri was the hero of the day as he saved two penalties from West Ham to secure the win. This will be the first time Leeds have reached the FA Cup semi-final since the 1980s.

Anton Stach delivers huge injury update

Leeds United now have a game against Chelsea later this month at Wembley. The bad news from Sunday’s game was that Anton Stach had to be substituted after just 30 minutes with an ankle injury. He walked off the pitch fine, but after the game he posted a picture of a swollen ankle, leading to speculation. With a game against Manchester United around the corner, Daniel Farke could not afford to lose the German.

However there is some positive news; Stach himself has posted on his Instagram that he could be ”back soon”: ”Quarterfinals in the Cart, next stop: Wembley. I hope to be back soon and ready to roll. Thank you for the amazing support.”. This has lead many to think the midfielder could be back in time for Monday’s game at Old Trafford. Leeds United are yet to fully assess the extent of the injury to the German star.

Leeds United need everyone fit for the upcoming fixtures

This is a point of the season that the Whites cannot get more players on the injury list. They have crucial games from now till the end of the campaign and will need each and every player available. Stach has been an important presence in the middle of the park and it will be very difficult to replace him if he is out for a long period. Depth on the bench is crucial; Daniel Farke needs to be able to call on any player at any time when the game demands it. Hopefully the Leeds boss can steer the club to safety in the final months of the season.
