Denzel Dumfries
Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are all chasing Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries for the summer.
Back in January, Sport Witness relayed news that Liverpool tried to sign him in the winter market, following Jeremie Frimpong’s setback. A deal, however, didn’t go through despite the Reds making approach.
Earlier this month, we covered claims from Italy of Aston Villa as an option for the right-back.
Liverpool and Aston Villa aren’t the only Premier League sides as Manchester United and Newcastle United are also in the mix.
The Netherlands international has been the first choice for the Serie A side since joining them from PSV Eindhoven for €12.5m in August 2021.
He suffered an ankle injury in November, forcing him to spend 103 days on the sidelines. This has restricted his playing time for the Nerazzurri this season.
His Serie A stats are as follows:
Appearances: 15
Starts: 12
Total minutes: 1,020
Minutes per game: 68
PL sides keen on Dumfries
L’Interista report the 29-year-old will be one of the hottest names in the next window as he’s yet to sort out his Inter Milan future.
Denzel Dumfries has ‘very strong interest’ from the Premier League, where Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are his suitors. These clubs are lining up to secure his services in the summer.
The Italian club, for their part, want to offer him one-year extension worth €5m net per year. His current contract includes a €25m release clause payable in one shot. Cristian Chivu’s side want to get rid of this clause with a new contract.
For now, the Dutchman remains focused on finishing this season with Inter Milan, who are leading the Serie A table, seven points ahead of second placed Napoli.
His final decision will be key, which he hasn’t made yet. As things stand, it’s unclear whether Dumfries will sign an extension or move elsewhere.
Contract, value and agent info
Denzel Dumfries will turn 30 years of age later this month and has a contract with Inter Milan until 2028. Transfermarkt now value him €25m, a €10m drop since June 2025.
Earlier this season, the player changed agents and is now represented by Epic Sports’ Ali Barat.
The new agent may be using the Premier League sides to help the Dutchman land the last lucrative deal of his career.
