Sean Dyche responds when asked if he would still take the Nottingham Forest job in hindsight

Nottingham Forest sacked Sean Dyche in February after a run of just one win from his last 11 games.

Sean Dyche was given his marching orders after Nottingham Forest were held to a goalless draw by rock bottom outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 54-year-old has since come out and in the media and said that it was a ‘strange’ decision to sack him, but he still has the utmost respect for owner Evangelos Marinakis.

In fact, Dyche publicly hailed Marinakis on talkSPORT yesterday, explaining that he’s so good at handling private matters with the players.

Now, he has responded when asked if he would still take the Forest job in hindsight.

Sean Dyche says he still would’ve accepted Nottingham Forest job

Despite being sacked after less than five months in charge, Dyche has no regrets about accepting the position.

Interviewer: “If you had your time again though, Sean, would you have taken the Forest job?

Dyche replied: “Oh yeah, definitely.

“Because it sort of rounded my own career, you know, from not getting the chance to wear the shirt as I said, which is true.

“I was there as a young sort of apprentice and professional. So, yeah, no, absolutely no regrets.

“I don’t regret much in my life anyway. I certainly don’t regret that.”

Since leaving Forest, Dyche has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace, so his stock clearly hasn’t dropped much, if at all.

Dyche has always maintained backing from the media, with Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer saying he was the best chance of survival for Forest.

Vitor Pereira has moved his side three points clear of the relegation zone, so the Portuguese head coach has got off to a decent start.
