Liverpool transfer target Bazoumana Touré
Liverpool transfer target Bazoumana Touré
Liverpool sent a scout to Everton to watch TSG Hoffenheim star Bazoumana Touré in March.
The Ivory Coast international appeared in a friendly against Scotland at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium during the last international break.
Touré played the full 90 minutes at Everton’s home stadium as Ivory Coast secured a 1-0 friendly win.
The Liverpool official took advantage of this tie to watch him live in action.
Liverpool keen on transfer
That’s according to this week’s edition of SportBild, who cover the Reds’ interest in the 20-year-old.
Mohamed Salah has announced his decision to leave Anfield at the end of this season. The Premier League side have already identified RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande as an option to replace the Egyptian.
Two months ago, Sport Witness relayed news that Leipzig are demanding €100 for their star.
Fast forward to April and SportBild back this up when covering the latest on Bazoumana Touré.
Arne Slot’s side also have the Hoffenheim star as are one of the top targets to strengthen their attack. Their scout recently watched him at Everton’s stadium, and the winger impressed with his ‘pace and resilience’.
Liverpool’s scouts have kept a close watch on the Ivorian repeatedly this season. The Anfield club aren’t alone as Aston Villa are also in the mix.
Touré joined the Bundesliga side from Hammarby IF in February 2025 and doesn’t have a release clause. Hoffenheim value him at €40m and this should also please the Swedish club, who retain a sell-on clause.
Last September, there were claims of Liverpool links and that got Hammabry IF sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg excited.
At that time, he said: “Yes, it [further financial profit] absolutely does. If that were to happen, it would be an excellent testament to our scouting and development activities. As well as a great joy and pride for the person and the player Bazou.”
“He has been impressive. I am extremely happy for him. Yes, we are in regular contact.”
Touré, who mainly operates on the left wing, has two goals and 11 assists from 26 games this season.
Our take: Worth giving attention to journalist
Journalist Axel Hesse covered this report. His Bild profile says he mainly focuses on Bayer Leverkusen and 1. FC Köln.
It’s to be noted these two German clubs aren’t named as Bazoumana Touré’s interested parties.
The number of Liverpool exclusives Hesse covered has drastically increased since Florian Wirtz’s move to Anfield last summer. It could be a pure coincidence but it’s worth pointing out.
