Newcastle United are finally back in action this weekend when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday. Kick-off is at 2pm live on Sky Sports.
It will have been three long, long weeks since we last saw the lads in action, and while we probably all needed a break after the last two results, three weeks feels like an eternity.
The Toon Army has waited even longer to see Brazilian hero and club captain Bruno Guimaraes on the pitch after he picked up a hamstring injury in the win over Tottenham in February.
Bruno’s absence has certainly been felt, although the lads have found a way to win without him in the side, something they hadn’t been able to do in the Premier League since his arrival in 2022.
With just seven games to go and our hopes of European football slipping away, we need Bruno back on the field and pulling the strings for Newcastle, and thankfully, it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer.
On Tuesday, Newcastle posted a video on X of Bruno in training wearing some video specs, so we got to see a session from Bruno’s point of view.
The relentlessly happy Brazilian was simply loving life back on the field at Benton and was looking sharp.
Whether he’s ready to return for 90 minutes on Sunday, we’re not sure, but it’s looking very promising. Even Bruno himself has dropped some hints on his Instagram stories lately that he’s raring to go.

Bruno’s recovery from his hamstring injury was set back slightly when he contracted mumps and had to isolate for five days and forego any form of physical activity, but it looks like it hasn’t put him back too much.
Even if he only plays an hour or so on Sunday, just having him back in the team will be a massive boost for the Magpies, who are looking to end the season strongly.
Can we pick up seven wins in our last seven games? We are an entirely different proposition when we only have to play once a week, so it’s not unrealistic. Let’s start to believe.
