With only four league wins to their name all season, it’s been a miserable campaign for the Clarets.

Sitting 10 points adrift of safety with only seven games remaining, Parker’s side look destined for the drop.

But while Parker has taken plenty of criticism from Burnley fans this season, one thing he can’t be accused of is not trying new things to try and eek out some results.

So much so, the Clarets have consistently switched tactics and formations, as well as personnel, so much so it’s difficult to predict how they will look from one week to the next.

But regardless of the approach and the decisions Parker takes, nothing seems to work.

When asked about the need to bring fresh ideas to the group, Parker replied: “Constantly, constantly, yes. Every single day, every single week, we’re constantly trying to look at different things.

"The big saying goes if you don’t change things, you’ll end up getting the same results. But I think we’ve done that [changed things up] over the course of the season. We've tried to change things from shape, from structures, from the way we play in certain moments.

"Can we be this maybe counter-attacking team? But okay, that doesn’t quite fit with our personnel, that doesn't really suit us. Okay, let's try and be a bit more of a possession-based and control team, set plays, defensive structures, attacking structures. I think you've probably seen that, certainly set play-wise, over the last few games.

"But yes, they're the things that would be foolish not to when you're not picking up results and you've not got enough points on the board. You need to change certain things and you need to try and look for new answers and that's what we're constantly trying to do.”
