While match-going Evertonians have been getting to grips with life by the Mersey waterfront in the club’s historic first season at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Blues much further afield have also been watching with interest.
With over 1.4billion potential fans, Everton have got a dedicated supporters club in China and the ECHO have been finding out what Blues in the Far East have thought about the 2025/26 campaign so far. Co-ordinated by Miss Yolanda Zhao, the responses were translated by supporter club leader Miss Samantha Guo while the club’s vice president Mrs Shuqiong Zhang helped collect the responses.
Chinese Everton fans were asked six separate questions and their answers are as follows...
With over three quarters of the season gone, how do you assess 2025/26 for Everton?
Most supporters (over 70% of the 61 participants in the survey), are satisfied with Everton’s performances so far while 17 (almost 28%) said they were very satisfied. Only one participant felt it was an ‘ok’ season while nobody was dissatisfied or very dissatisfied.
How realistic do you think the team’s chances of qualifying for European competition are?
Some 40.98% of fans think Everton’s hopes are in the balance while 24/43% think it is relatively possible. A further 13.11% reckon it’s very possible with 6.56% saying it’s very impossible and 4.92% believing it is relatively impossible.
What are your thoughts on the job that David Moyes has done since he returned as manager?

Which Everton player has impressed you most this season?
Fresh from his first two England caps, James Garner leads the way with 22 votes (36.07% of responses), followed by Jordan Pickford on 12 votes. Both Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish got eight votes apiece with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall receiving seven votes.
Beto, Thierno Barry, James Tarkowski and Adam Aznou each received a single vote.
What do you think of Hill Dickinson Stadium from what you have seen so far?
Here are a selection of responses...
It’s excellent.
I haven’t get used to it yet.
It’s a good stadium but our results weren’t that good.
Good stadium but I hope it gets more of Goodison Park vibe.
A posh one.
The new stadium is great, which represents the team’s determination for a revival, to get back on track being strong and popular.
Great but it seems that the team haven’t get used to a bigger stadium.
We had our Chinese Toffees flag at the old Goodison Park, but we haven’t been able to spot it in the new stadium yet. Does anyone know where it is? It would be great to see it back again at the new ground.
It looks amazing in the broadcasting, I’m so glad we have a world-class stadium like this.
It’s a top stadium, but the home win rate is lower than the away ones.
It’s not bad, quite advanced, though I’m not too keen on the name.
The pitch is good, but the style of the team has been a bit rough, it feels like they can’t cope with the bigger stadium.
Modern and stylish, just need to improve our home performances a bit.
It looks very modern and cosmopolitan, I hope I’ll have the chance to visit it in the future.
It’s beautiful, definitely one of the top football stadiums in the Premier League.
It’s very modern and very professional.
I miss Goodison Park but Hill Dickinson Stadium is brilliant as our new home. I wish the atmosphere can be as good as Goodison at some point in the future.
It’s sure that the new stadium will become a new landmark for our club, attracting greater support.
The facilities are better, but it lacks the atmosphere of the ‘Blue Kingdom’ that was Goodison Park.
Not quite as classic as the old ground.
The facilities are excellent, but the atmosphere seems to have gone down a little.
The new stadium is brilliant, and I hope Everton will win more trophies there.
I haven’t been there, but from the videos and photos it looks beautiful and modern.
The ground is spacious and modern, but not particularly lively, it lacks the grandeur of Goodison Park, with fewer club-related items (banners, flags) on display.
It needs to embrace Everton’s traditions more quickly.
What are your final thoughts on the season so far?
I wish Everton can win a place for European competition.
There are clear weaknesses in the squad, I hope they strengthen them as soon as possible.
I’ll always support Everton.
We’re hoping to fight for a European place, though the chance seems slim.
We need stronger centre-forwards to get into European competition.
It’s been a good start to the year as we set sail. I hope we’ll be more astute in the transfer market and that the recruitment team will work even more closely with the coaching staff.
We need to step up our recruitment efforts, and hope young players will have more opportunities which is important for a brighter future. Obviously, I don’t want to go through another relegation period as we did in previous years.
Come on, do your best to stay in the top half of the table!
Try to give the youngsters a bit more playing time.
The results could be better if we got stronger full-back positions.
Sure this season is a transitional one so the performance so far has been passable, but I’m looking forward to seeing us improve further next season.
Let’s make it to Europe.
Keep it up, and let’s hope the players stay healthy.
COYB! I’m delighted the club is back on track and we’re looking forward to more surprises.
The scouting team could do a bit better.
Can we get a decent striker?
Improve the full-backs. We lack pacy players in either the defence or the attack.
Take it step by step, let’s aim for the Europa Conference League.
We need to strengthen the full-back position.
Let’s fight and make sure we qualify for European competition next season.
I hope that in the future we can compete for a top-six place in the league and a cup win.
