Rangers are understood to be in pursuit of Leeds United attacker Joe Gelhardt, who is currently on loan at Hull City.
Despite having three senior strikers in Youssef Chermiti, Ryan Naderi and Bojan Miovski, Danny Rohl wants to sign a number nine this summer.
Miovski could leave Rangers, and that could be why Gelhardt has popped up on their radar.

Leeds United want up to £5m for Joe Gelhardt
According to Weekend Sports journalist Sebastien Vidal, Rangers have been given the green signal to sign Gelhardt.
Leeds are open to parting ways with the 23-year-old and will demand between £3m and £5m for his services.
The journalist claims that a green signal has been given to the Gers to continue discussions over bringing the striker to Ibrox.
Given his form at Hull City, the Whites are open to cashing in and are thus not ruling out an exit when the transfer window opens.

The Liverpool-born striker has been thriving in the Championship this season, scoring 13 goals in 34 games.
He has also provided four assists and been among the first names on the team sheet.
Issuing an update on his future, Vidal wrote on X: “Rangers FC Go on the Offensive for Joe Gelhardt
“Leeds United’s forward, in top form during his loan at Hull City, isn’t ruling out a departure this summer.
“In-form profile, accessible value (£3m to 5m) and solid club relations: all the signs are green for discussions to continue.”

What Gelhardt can bring to the Rangers attack
Gelhardt has been linked with Rangers for a few seasons, and this summer is when it could actually happen.
The 23-year-old is known for his movement and likes playing as a false nine, so he could fit in perfectly in the 4-2-2-2 system.
He excels at dropping deep into pockets of space, and that could see one of Youssef Chermiti or Ryan Naderi lead the line and focus on finding the back of the net.
Despite being a number nine, Gelhardt is known more for his creativity rather than his goalscoring nous.
Rohl likes players who are energetic and can press constantly, making the Leeds United forward an ideal addition.
At £5m, he will fit into the Gers’ transfer budget, and it remains to be seen if they succeed in bringing him to the club.
