Liverpool’s interest in Tottenham Hotspur defensive prodigy Luka Vuskovic could firm up after the latest reports from Germany.

Spurs have now effectively set their price for the highly rated centre-back and are open to a sale if their valuation is met. The teenager is on Liverpool’s radar as the club prepares for a potential reshuffle at the back.

Vukskovic, still only 19, is in the middle of a standout loan spell at Hamburg from Tottenham, where his form has seen his market value skyrocket compared to the roughly £11–12 million Spurs initially paid Hajduk Split to secure his signature in a long-term deal back in 2023.

The Croatian has been a defensive pillar in the Bundesliga, combining imposing physical presence with comfort on the ball, and his performances have already earned him Croatia recognition at senior or under-21 level.

German outlet Sport Bild (via Sport Witness) report that Tottenham are aware they may not be able to keep the teenager happy without European football, and that the club’s financial and sporting situation means a blockbuster bid this summer could be entertained despite his contract running until 2030.

It’s added that Tottenham want offers starting at €40m for the Croation defender, with his age profile and ceiling make the fee more palatable, particularly if Liverpool can amortise the cost over a lengthy contract.

Vuskovic has 5 league goals for Hamburg this season, making him among the highest‑scoring centre‑back across Europe’s top five leagues according to Sofascore data. He’s done that in around 25 Bundesliga appearances.

The key question is whether Tottenham are truly prepared to sell a player many around see as a potential cornerstone defebder, or whether the mooted price tag is partly a deterrent for domestic rivals such as Liverpool.

Either way, with Vuskovic’s valuation continuing to climb on the back of his Hamburg performances, any club hoping to land him this summer will almost certainly have to table an offer befitting one of Europe’s most coveted young centre-backs
