Liverpool look set for a major change on the front of their famous red shirt, with football finance analyst Mo Chatra reporting that the club’s long‑standing sponsorship with Standard Chartered is likely not be renewed beyond the 2026/27 season as things stand.

The current agreement is understood to be worth up to £50m per year including performance‑related bonuses, but Liverpool are said to be targeting a new deal worth around £70m per season as they look to keep pace with the Premier League’s commercial elite.

Standard Chartered first appeared on Liverpool’s shirts in 2010, succeeding Carlsberg and immediately becoming one of the most recognisable partnerships in English football.

A multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in London but heavily focused on Asian markets, Standard Chartered used Liverpool to strengthen its global footprint, particularly in countries such as China, India and Southeast Asia.

Over more than a decade, the partnership has been renewed multiple times and has spanned some of the club’s modern‑era highs, including the Champions League triumph in 2019 and the long‑awaited Premier League title in 2020.

Beyond the financial value, the relationship has been built around community and charitable initiatives, such as campaigns to promote financial literacy and health awareness in developing markets where both the bank and club enjoy strong followings.

Chatra adds that Manchester City and Arsenal’s shirt deals with Etihad and Emirates respectively are said to be worth around £60m per year, though those agreements also include stadium naming rights. He further suggests that City’s Etihad arrangement likely pays out more than the widely reported headline figure.

If Liverpool do move on from Standard Chartered, it will mark the end of a 17‑year association and the search for a new partner will be watched closely. A successful jump towards the £70m‑a‑year bracket would signal that the club’s commercial pulling power remains right up there with their on‑pitch ambitions

As things stand, Liverpool’s front of sport sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered will not be renewed beyond the 2026/27 season.

The current deal pays up to £50m per annum (plus moderate bonuses for major trophies). The club is working to increase this to £70m or more.
