Liverpool team to face PSG in the Champions League quarter-final first leg confirmed.

Liverpool have unleashed a new formation for their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

Under-pressure Arne Slot has opted for a wing-back formation at the Parc des Princes. Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez are out wide, with the centre-back trio being Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez.

The reshuffle means that Mo Salah is dropped to the bench from last weekend's sobering 4-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Salah, who missed a penalty at City when Liverpool were already well beaten, is replaced by Frimpong. Curtis Jones also finds himself in reserve, with Alexis Mac Allister coming in.

In addition, Alexander Isak is in the match-day squad for the first time in almost four months. The £125 million British record signing has recovered from a broken leg he sustained when scoring in a 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool: Mamardashvili, Frimpong, Gomez, Van Dijk, Konate, Kerkez, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Ekitike

Subs: Woodman, Misciur, Isak, Salah, Chiesa, Jones, Gakpo, Robertson, Nyoni, Ngumoha.
