Everton now want to sign a player Roberto Martinez thinks is ‘incredible’

Everton are already making plans for the fast-approaching summer transfer window.

David Moyes’ side are aiming for Europe, so the calibre of player they’ll be able to attract will be a major upgrade from previous windows.

That said, Everton are exploring a deal for Christian Kofane, who Bayer Leverkusen value at around £87m.

Would this be a good signing on a one-year deal? 🤔

Now, it’s being reported that the Toffees are keeping close tabs on West Ham United’s Mateus Fernandes.

The 21-year-old made his debut against the United States of America, coming on as a late substitute in the 2-0 victory.

Everton face stiff competition for his signature, as Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also circling.

The price tag could be a stumbling block for the Toffees, as West Ham will want to return an investment for the £42m they paid for Fernandes.

Central midfield certainly isn’t a priority for Moyes’ side either.
