Another muscle injury for Dan James is the latest concerning development for the Leeds United winger following a new long-term deal.
The Whites are through to the FA Cup semi-finals after a dramatic win over West Ham on penalties on Sunday, as both sides also bid to stay in the Premier League.
However, the club came out of this fixture with multiple injury concerns to contend with as attention turns to Old Trafford next week.
Dan James ruled out for a couple of weeks after new Leeds United setback
Prior to kick-off, a couple of absentees were confirmed with winger Dan James and full-back Gabriel Gudmundsson both missing from the squad.
While Gudmundsson was left out due to a minor issue best not risked, James is looking at another stint on the sidelines.
A new adductor strain for James sees him ruled out for a ‘couple of weeks’, according to Graham Smyth. That potentially sees him ruled out until our midweek clash against Bournemouth on April 22nd.
Since the start of the 24/25 season, James has missed 25 games through injury. And, he’s looking at more with this new setback.

After promotion back to the Premier League, it wasn’t a surprise to see James in line for a new long-term contract.
He was one of the Championship’s best last season, in fairness. However, it’s a deal that certainly hasn’t aged well whatsoever.
I was hopeful he’d have more of a part to play this season, and therefore justify his contract renewal. But, he’s been constantly injured and you worry about whether he’s ever going to get back to his best.
With a deal running until 2029, Leeds have committed to James for a long time. Let’s hope he can shake off these issues and have a say on our season.
