The Reds made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 11th minute when Desire Doue found the back of the net. Arne Slot’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Gomez mopped up the danger when he could, but lacked quality on the ball.

He came back to defend when he could and had a couple of lively moments going forward.
