Eduardo Conceição speaks out amid Newcastle bid rumours

**Newcastle United have recently had a bid rejected by Palmeiras for 16-year-old Eduardo Conceição, according to a recent report.**

At the weekend, it was reported that Newcastle had seen a bid for the young Palmeiras star rejected by the Brazilian club.

Newcastle were [thought to be the frontrunners regardless of the knockback](https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2026/04/02/newcastle-see-21-5m-bid-for-16-year-old-eduardo-conceicao-rejected/), but as Palmeiras have a £86 million release clause in place for Conceição, they are in no rush to accept any bids for their talented young winger.

Palmeiras rejected a whopping £21.5 million bid from Newcastle for the 16-year-old who’s yet to even make his first senior appearance.

Clearly, he’s expected to do big things with such a whopping release clause already and the fact that the Brazilian club are rejected such big bids for his services.

Meanwhile, Conceição himself has been speaking to [AS](https://as.com/futbol/eduardo-conceicao-mi-referente-es-endrick-f202604-n/) in Spain about the growing interest in his services, and the younger seems to be focused on the right things.

> _“The pressure is something natural for those who play for Palmeiras. We are used to dealing with it from a young age_

>

> _“I admit I do not usually read the news about me. My daily goal is to be in the best possible condition to show my value on the pitch. My agent knows that I do not even like to keep up with what happens outside football.”_

>

> _“My family helps me a lot in that sense. They always remind me of the importance of keeping my feet on the ground.”_

It sounds like the kid has his head screwed on, which is a good sign.

We obviously don’t know a great deal about Eduardo Conceição, but if we’re already making £20m+ bids for him before he’s even made a senior appearance, then our scouts must be pretty confident in his abilities.

Unsurprisingly, Newcastle aren’t the only big club chasing the youngster’s signature, but it’s a good sign that we are reported as being at the front of the queue.

**Rumour Rating**: 6/10 – The interest sounds genuine, albeit coming from Brazil rather than anyone on the Newcastle side of things. However, Palmeiras sound pretty determined to keep hold of him. We’d have to wait until his 18th birthday before we can bring him to Newcastle anyway, which could suit Palmeiras as they will get to keep hold of him for another year or so.
