Sitting 10 points adrift of safety with only seven games remaining, chances are the Clarets are on their way back to the Championship.
If that does indeed prove to be the case, it will be the club’s third straight relegation from the top flight.
It’s been a particularly disappointing campaign under Scott Parker, who has only been able to oversee four league wins in 31 games. Only one victory, meanwhile, has been achieved in Burnley’s last 22 league games.
But rather than point the finger at Parker, or Vincent Kompany before him, Dyche appeared to suggest the problems may lie above the head coach.

When asked about Parker’s struggles and the criticism he’s come under, Dyche told talkSPORT: “He’s doing the same thing they did last time with Vincent [Kompany] there.

"They spent quite a lot of money, relative to Burnley, on a load of young-ish players, up and comers, and I think the model – and I’m not speaking for them – but I can only imagine the model is to stay up and sell them all on for a kajillion quid. But it’s not that easy.
"Every club would love to sign young players for less, let’s say, develop them and be successful and sell them on for fortunes and keep that going year after year. But it’s not that easy, trust me.
"Everyone’s model is that, virtually across football now, but it’s not that easy.”
