All but two of West Ham's missing nine pictured training ahead of Wolves

All but two of West Ham’s missing nine players have been pictured in full training ahead of the must-win clash with Wolves.

The old cliche ‘every game is a cup final’ rings true for the Hammers as they prepare for the final seven matches of the relegation run-in with the visit of Wolves to the London Stadium on Friday night.

It is hands down the biggest game of the season so far for Nuno Espirito Santo and his much-improved West Ham side.

Victory will see the Hammers climb out of the relegation zone and they will stay there if Spurs fail to beat Sunderland away on Sunday.

If West Ham are to have any chance of staying in the Premier League, Nuno needs all his top players fit and firing.

And the Portuguese has received a monumental boost in that regard.

Because seven of West Ham’s missing nine have been pictured in full training ahead of the Wolves clash.

There have been serious concerns in east London since a raft of key players missed Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Leeds.

Flying Dutchman Crysencio Summerville, defenders Jean-Clair Todibo and Konstantinos Mavropanos, number one goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, striker Callum Wilson and Hammer of the Year Aaron Wan-Bissaka were not in the West Ham squad for the cup exit.

Then key star Axel Disasi, goalkeeper Alphonse Areola and winger Adama Traore – who had his best game for West Ham so far – all went off nursing what looked like knocks in the game.

There had been speculation Disasi had suffered a hamstring injury while uncertainty continued to surround the return of Summerville – both fundamental players if the Hammers are to have any realistic hope of survival.

West Ham’s injury crisis fears were addressed when Hammers News exclusively revealed the club expected to have most, if not all, the players available for Wolves.

And all but two of the missing nine are in full training according to pictures released by the club from training at Rush Green.

The best news is that Summerville has been involved in full training all week and should return to the fold for the huge match.

Who has been the biggest upgrade? Disasi for Kilman surely…

He is pictured several times looking focused and has taken to Instagram this week to suggest he is set to return too.

Disasi is also pictured training with his Hammers teammates – as are fellow centre-backs Mavropanos and Todibo.

Wan-Bissaka only missed the Leeds game due to his late arrival back from DR Congo’s World Cup qualification celebrations.

The right-back features in the pictures from training as does Traore, who was down for some time with what looked like a potential calf issue before he was subbed off against Leeds.

One of the biggest sighs of relief will come at the sight of Mads Hermansen being back.

The Dane was not even in the squad for Leeds, leaving young stopper Fin Herrick to deputise for Alphonse Areola when the big Frenchman went off injured in extra-time.

But Areola was one of only two of West Ham’s missing nine who were not pictured in training, making Hermansen’s availability all the more vital.

Just because Areola did not feature in the selected training images does not necessarily mean he wasn’t or won’t be involved of course.

But Herrick may be on standby for a first Premier League appearance should anything happen to Hermansen against Wolves.

The same can be said for striker Wilson, who was the second doubtful Hammer who did not feature in the pictures from training.

Other key stars such as Jarrod Bowen, El Hadji Malick Diouf and Mateus Fernandes were pictured in full training, though.

Now the Hammers just have to hope there are no issues 24 hours out from the big game and that Nuno’s side go out and do the business when it matters.
