Lucumi was at the centre of something of a transfer saga last summer when the Colombian was identified as a leading target for Sunderland and was desperate to move to the Stadium of Light, but Bologna wouldn't play ball.
He ended up staying at the Serie A club but as the 28-year-old approaches the final year of his contract there's fresh uncertainty surrounding his future.
Despite speculation, Sunderland weren't interested in pursuing Lucumi again in the January transfer window, with priorities at that stage elsewhere on the pitch.
But the defender has continued to be linked with a move to the Black Cats ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

And fresh reports now claim Barcelona have identified Lucumi as a potential back-up option if they fail to land Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni this summer.
Bologna would like to keep Lucumi - who recovered from a shaky start to the season, understandable given the speculation and uncertainty last summer - and has been a key figure again for Vincenzo Italiano's side.
But they also accept that if Lucumi isn't going to sign a new contract then this summer will be the last opportunity to sell for a relatively significant fee. It's said he'd be available for around £22m.
Lucumi, though, insists he's putting talk of his future to the back of his mind.
He told Corriere dello Sport this week: "Right now, my focus is solely on finishing the season on a high note and helping the team. Then I’ll sit down with my family, with my wife, and we’ll see with my team what’s best for my career. Now my priority is to give my all for Bologna. And I think that right now, talking about a renewal isn’t the most important thing."
He added: “Everything here is fantastic. I’m truly grateful for the way they welcomed me, the way they treated me, and for the affection they’ve shown me and my family. We’re happy here. We can only express our deepest gratitude for everything Bologna has done for us.”
Pressed further on his contract and future, Lucumi said: “I think it’s right to make a decision based on what’s best for me, for my family, for everyone.
"I don’t think anyone makes a decision just for the sake of it or simply because they want to leave. I won’t do that either. I’ll decide only after evaluating everything.”
Sunderland strengthened their backline last summer with the additions of Omar Alderete and Nordi Mukiele, who have both enjoyed excellent first seasons on Wearside.
Lutsharel Geertruida also joined on a season-long loan from Leipzig and the Black Cats must decide whether to make that deal permanent this summer. Geertruida has been a crucial figure thanks to his versatility but has struggled to nail down a specific starting place in Regis Le Bris' side.
Director of football Florent Ghisolfi recently said Sunderland's focus will be on "stability" this summer rather than targeting an influx of new arrivals, as was the case 12 months ago.
There is growing interest in some Sunderland stars, however.
On the back of an exceptional first season in the Premier League, Robin Roefs is of interest to Chelsea, who have also been linked with Noah Sadiki, along with Manchester United.
Fresh reports this week also claim Habib Diarra has interest in Saudi Arabia.
